Rotman Commerce Insurance Association is a club which was created two years ago to explore opportunities in the lesser-known industry in retrospect. The club was curated with a team of six enthusiastic members who eagerly awaited the official recognition of the club as a student organization at the University of Toronto.
Joining RCIA was one of the best decisions I have every made. I joined the team as a mere committee member for the student experiences team, but because of the size of the group my voice was heard. My ideas that were spoken in the group were made into actions and implemented as events. Being a part of a newer club opens opportunities and creates potential for growth for every individual in the club. This helps the students build confidence and make invaluable experiences to help foster growth for future.
As a club, we aim to bridge the gap between the students and the insurance industry. This is done through various panel events, case competitions, IG take overs, and networking sessions with renowned insurance companies. We create a safe space for people curious about the industry to directly communicate with industry leaders and create meaningful networks. This upcoming year we would create mentorship programs for students to get direct contact within the insurance industry to help navigate through the confusing process of internship and full-time recruitment.
To educate and provide meaningful and engaging content for students to learn more about the insurance industry.
